Arc Fire Cement is a ready mixed, air drying, silicate based material for use as a joint filler and adhesive where high temperature resistance, up to 1250oC, is required. The product dries to a hard, cement–like material with good adhesion to many surfaces.
For sealing around pipework and flues in fireplaces, boilers, solid fuel burners and central heating systems. Repairing fire backs.
INSTRUCTIONS:
All surfaces must be clean and dry and free from dirt, dust, grease and other contamination. Apply the adhesive from the cartridge, forcing it into the area to be sealed, then immediately tool it down to ensure good adhesion. When bonding materials, apply a bead of adhesive to one surface and immediately combine the two parts , applying pressure to ensure good surface contact. Allow to air dry for 24 hours, after which gentle heat can be gradually applied. At temperatures in excess of 800 oC the material will start to ‘glassify’. Arc Fire Cement will not bond plastics materials, particularly where flexing may occur. Do not use the cement on joints exposed to wet conditions.
